Our Story
Lister Mason commenced
on 1 July 1989 in Sutherland and moved to more modern
premises at Engadine in April 2002. July 2009 marks our
20 year anniversary and we are proud to say we have been
able to provide a professional and personal service to
our clients (many of whom have been with us for the full
20 years).
Our
client base ranges from the mums and dads of society
through to businesses turning over in excess of $20 million. We
have built our reputation on our desire and being able
to deal with a full spectrum of clients. We are
never too busy to take your phone call. We pride ourselves
on caring for all our clients needs on an equal level
and certainly attempt to handle them both efficiently
and cost effectively.
We have ongoing training
processes in place to ensure we keep up-to-date and we
invest in our technology to assist in the speed of our
service. All members of the Lister Mason team are there
to assist you and will do so to the best of their ability
and with a smile on their face.
Stephen
Mason
Stephen obtained his Bachelor
of Business (credit) in1983 from the NSW Institute
of Technology (now UTS). In 1984 he became
a Member of CPA Australia and then obtained
his Public Practice Certificate in 1988.
After working for 10 years in both accounting
practices and industry, he started ‘Lister
Mason & Co’
with Jeff Lister at Sutherland in July 1989. After
2 years he took full ownership of the practice. In
April 2002 the practice was moved to new premises
at Engadine and modified to the name ‘Lister Mason’.
Stephen has been involved in the financial planing industry since 1990 with Lonsdale
Financial Planning Group and became a Certified Financial Planner in 2000.
Over the years, he is proud to say with the help of dedicated staff, the practice
has grown to be a success and his aim to provide a comprehensive, timely and
cost effective service to all clients is being achieved.

Ian Linton
Ian
completed a Bachelor of Building from UNSW in
1994. In 1999 he completed the Accounting Conversion
course from UTS Sydney.
He
became a CPA in 2002. From 1987-2002 he worked
in the Superannuation Industry. From 2002 to
2009 he has been in the employ of Lister Mason. Ian
left our firm for 12 months and has now returned
(August 2010) as an integral part of our team.
In
2006 Ian attained his Diploma of Financial Accounting.
He would like to expand into this field in the
future. Ian has a keen interest in technology
and is the resident ‘expert’ with
software/computer problems.

Kevin Dick
Kevin’s career commenced in 1970 with the
accounting firm, HG Mayer in Bankstown.
In 1973 Kevin entered into an Accounting Partnership at Liverpool.
In 1980 the business was split and Kevin operated with his wife Caroline.
In 2000 he introduced his client base and joined Lister Mason.
Kevin has always been involved in tax return preparation,
business advice and planning. His friendly,
approachable demeanour is always appreciated by
his many loyal clients.

Christina
Wu
Christina arrived in Australia
in 2005 and attended Wollongong University,
completing a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)
with Distinctions.
She joined Lister Mason In October 2007. In
February 2008 she joined CPA Australia as an Associate
Member and is now studying in order to achieving
full CPA status.
Christina can also speak fluent English, Chinese Mandarin, Taiwanese and Cantonese.
In the future she would like to further her studies to Financial Planning.

Rod
Mason
Rod graduated from UNSW in 1963
– Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accountancy. He
obtained his Tax Agent and Auditor registration also
in 1963.
Rod was a Partner in the Cronulla firm of Millar
Partners, Chartered Accountants from 1963 to 1982
where he was in charge of a diverse range of small
business clients specialising in financial accounts
preparation, income tax advising and return preparation,
auditing of licensed clubs and some small companies.
From 1982 till 1988 Rod worked as a Sole Practitioner. From
1988 till present he has been in the employ of Lister
Mason. Rod’s many years of experience in accounting
and finance are a real asset to Lister Mason.

 Chris
Mason
Chris’ role in the office is
Office Manager, performing all office duties
and also following up with tax matters. She
has over 25 year’s experience working in accounting
firms and is proud to have had a key role in
building the practice along with husband, Stephen,
into what has become a very successful business. Chris
prides herself on knowing clients on a more
personal basis.

 Catherine
Parr
Cathy’s role is Administration
Manager. She’s been with the firm for
over 6 years. She has had over 25 years
experience working in various industries, including
managing executive suites where she gained
experience in many different aspects of small
business. Her diverse and
extensive experience in administration is invaluable
to our firm.
